The annual conference of the Society for Longitudinal and Life Course Studies was held at the University of Potsdam in Germany from September 25th to 27th. Researchers from European countries including the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, and Asian countries participated in the conference, and presented their researches using panel data.

CREOC Director Hideo Akabayashi, Project Assistant Professor Midori Otani, and Research Collaborator / Graduate Student Shun Ikemoto presented our ongoing research using panel data including JCPS collected at Keio University, and exchange opinions with other researchers. Otani presented a study to understand the relationship between asset of grandparents and grandchildren’s education and academic achievement. Ikemoto presented a study that investigates the effect of public high school admission policies on the school absenteeism at junior high school.
